After graduating from UCSD with a Masters in International Relations in 2009, she decided to stay in San Diego working for an alternative energy startup and Home Buddies pet service. In addition to loving and caring for pets, Sandy had an exciting career as a sportswriter at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Massachusetts where he covered the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots, Super Bowls, World Series and NCAA basketball Final Fours along with high schools and college games. When I was a little girl I had an obsession with birds and would constantly point them out when I was outdoors. As an adult, I decided that I wanted to work in the animal field. I started working at a local vet clinic and from there moved on to a career as an animal trainer at Sea World. I started with the birds, otters, and small mammals. This, of course, was a great fit since I always had a love for birds. From there, I moved on to working with sea lions, dolphins, and pilot whales. I worked there for a total of 12 years and now as a mom of 2 boys I have found a way to combine my passion for animals with my family time.
